“Let the beauty of what you love, be what you do.” - Rumi

Several months of blood, sweat, and tears went into this video, not to mention broken equipment, reshoots, a near disaster on the Williamsburg Bridge, and multiple 5 am call times. It’s also interesting to note that both Andrew and I have similar stories, 5 years apart. I hope you enjoy this video and that it inspires you in one way or another. Andrew and I fly to Africa in exactly 2 weeks…

All My Best,
Reuben

MY SWEET NEW RIDE

I managed to score the last Tokyo Bike in this beautiful color, since they stopped producing it last year.

I’ve been eyeing it for over a year so it was probably meant to be.

This upcoming November and December I’m excited to head back to Argentina and Antarctica.

Here’s a street photo I snapped in La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina earlier this year.

Into the Wild

I’m on a mission to get a dome housing for my camera, to experiment more with separating the water from the air.

Getting geared up to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with @andrewmklein.

I’m hoping these lightweight hiking shoes will carry me nearly 20,000 ft to the summit.

Do any of you have any tips to share for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro?

We leave in just over a month so let the countdown begin…

Happy #worldoceansday!

This is another image from my first Drake Passage crossing on the way to Antarctica. The Drake Passage is the stormiest sea in the world and people often ask me how the crossing is. For someone that gets sea sick easily, I didn’t think it was that bad and managed to survive 6 crossings.

Out of all of my Antarctic photographs, these are some of my favorite images. Perhaps it is because I have a deep connection to the ocean and have spent most of my life in and around the ocean.

I find a tremendous amount of beauty in our oceans, even in the midst of its chaos, and I’m truly grateful for everything it has to offer. Let’s do whatever we can to protect it!

HOME SWEET HOME

After 4.5 years of living here and numerous flights back and forth, this is the closest fly by I’ve ever experienced over Manhattan 😍

It’s fascinating how such a simple, fleeting moment of beauty can really stop you in your tracks.

And I’m so excited to be back home!

GOING SOMEWHERE

“When you are everywhere, you are nowhere / When you are somewhere, you are everywhere.” - Rumi

Flashback to Buenos Aires, Argentina. It’s always an interesting process going back through archived images, because I seem to always find something new and different with a fresh set of eyes.

I took this photo on my journey to Antarctica, probably 3-4 weeks before actually stepping foot on the Antarctic continent for my first time.

When I look at this image now, it feels like it’s a foreshadowing of what 2015 will and has brought both professionally and personally. I feel like I’m moving towards a new place, especially since I’ve had the opportunity to work on some exciting personal projects this year. Perhaps I will look back at this image several years from now and discover an entirely new meaning.
