| GOING SOMEWHERE |

“When you are everywhere, you are nowhere / When you are somewhere, you are everywhere.” - Rumi

Flashback to Buenos Aires, Argentina. It’s always an interesting process going back through archived images, because I seem to always find something new and different with a fresh set of eyes.

I took this photo on my journey to Antarctica, probably 3-4 weeks before actually stepping foot on the Antarctic continent for my first time.

When I look at this image now, it feels like it’s a foreshadowing of what 2015 will and has brought both professionally and personally. I feel like I’m moving towards a new place, especially since I’ve had the opportunity to work on some exciting personal projects this year. Perhaps I will look back at this image several years from now and discover an entirely new meaning.

I’m so honored to have my first (and hopefully not my last) NY Times assignment published on page A16 of today’s paper. If you get a copy, check it out or click on this link to read the article and watch the video online:

My heart is full, absolutely grateful, and still a bit shocked.

The best part about being self employed is that you get to choose your own adventure.

Tomorrow I will hop on a plane bound for South America and embark on a journey to Antarctica, my final continent, where I will be the Photographer in Residence onboard an expedition ship. Antarctica has been on my bucket list ever since I was in 4th grade, so this will be quite a meaningful adventure.

I’m incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity, and it all still feels a bit surreal.

Exactly 4 years ago today I relocated to NYC, fresh off of a plane from Sydney, Australia, and literally started over.

I’m incredibly grateful for this journey, and all of the people I’ve met along the way.

People often ask me if I see myself staying in NYC indefinitely, and the answer is YES.

Some of my polar essentials after returning to the ship from an Arctic expedition. I’m prepping to embark next month on a 2 month adventure and photo residency in Antarctica, which is my final continent to explore #thisarcticlife #antarcticaordie (at Somewhere Near the North Pole)

I’ve enjoyed bouncing off walls ever since I was in junior high, literally #peterparkour #selfportrait (at Williamsburg Bklyn)
I captured this photo using a tripod and intervalometer. I wish I had a behind the scenes photo to show for all of my effort but I was by myself. A bunch of bystanders got a free show and snapped some behind the scenes photos.
