An abandoned NSA spy station used during the Cold War and one of the most fascinating sites I’ve ever visited. Now it looks like Bushwick meets Hunger Games on steroids.

Once an East Berliner hijacked a plane and forced it to land here in West Berlin for the sake of freedom.

Now this former airport houses 1,300 Syrian refugees in hangar 1.
